Young Driver Reported over Murray Bridge Burnout

A learner driver has had his car impounded after police noticed tyre marks on the road near the local pub.

On Sunday 24 November, Police attended Fifth street at Murray Bridge and whilst at the location noticed a significant tyre burnout mark.

Patrols viewed CCTV footage of the traffic incident, a burnout in front of a large crowd near the Murray Bridge Hotel.

Police tracked down the suspect, a 22-year-old local man, and reported him for misuse of a motor vehicle, driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, failing to display learner’s permit, contravening a condition of his learner’s licence and carrying a passenger in part of the vehicle not designed for carrying passengers.

The Ford Falcon utility was impounded for 28 days and the driver will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
