Our local tourism operators have cleaned up at the 2024 SA Tourism Awards annual Gala Dinner on Friday the 1st of November.
Hosted by the Tourism Industry Council of South Australia, tourism businesses were recognised in 30 categories celebrating different parts of the sector including festivals, events, ecotourism, and adventure tourism.
Monarto Safari Park has been named People’s Choice this year and has brought home gold for Major Tourist Attraction Award for its “Wild Africa Precinct,” offering immersive safari tours that bring visitors closer to wildlife while supporting conservation efforts.
Kool Tours were inducted in to the Hall of Fame for a third year in a row for tours offering engaging insights into Indigenous history and traditions.
The Big Duck Boat Tours won the Eco-tourism Award for their scenic wildlife expeditions along the Southern Ocean, bringing guests close to sea cliffs, islands, and marine wildlife, including sea lions, dolphins, and migrating whales.
Old Coach Road Estate (OCRE) in Hindmarsh Valley has been awarded gold in the Self-Contained Accommodation category.
Beach Huts Middleton has taken out silver for 4-4.5 Star Delux Accommodation, following a gold win for Oval Hotel in Adelaide.
Woodhouse Adventure Park won the Unique Accommodation category and silver in Adventure Tourism and were Inducted into the Hall of Fame for experience-based accommodation in the Adelaide Hills.
In the Tour and Transport category, Spirit of the Coorong won the gold and Juggle House Experiences were awarded silver.
The Major Tour and Transport Operator winner was SeaLink Marine & Tourism, for the PS Murray Princess, offering eco-tourism boat tours along the River Murray, Lower Lakes, and into the Coorong National Park.
With a small but mighty team of five, Kimbolton Wines in Langhorne Creek took out Bronze for Excellence in Accessible Tourism. Adelaide Fringe Festival took out gold and Adelaide Zoo won silver in that category.
