Goolwa Beach is once again open for recreational fishing for bivalve molluscs, including Pipis (Goolwa Cockles).
The State Government has announced the temporary ban’s been lifted, after it was shut down in January due to detections of E.coli above what was safe for human consumption.
The entire Goolwa Beach from the Murray Mouth to Middleton Point is now back open and running.
As a result of the impact of the shorter season, it has been extended by 12 weeks. The season will now close on 23 August 2023.
