The four SA finalists for the AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award have been announced, with two locals recognised for their exceptional work to help regional communities.
Clarendon’s Emma Gilbert has been nominated for her new app called IncubatePro, which tracks, monitors and educates users about poultry egg hatchings, while Murray Bridge’s Kelly Johnson was made a finalist for her work with SPhiker, a shelf-stable meal company which uses surplus and second-grade produce from local farmers.
The SA winner will be announced on 8 April and will represent the state at the national AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award Gala Dinner in Canberra later in the year.
The national winner will be awarded an additional $20,000 Westpac grant and the national runner-up will receive a $15,000 grant.
