The Mount Barker Council is pleading with motorists to stop using the Summit Sport and Recreation Park (SSRP) as a shortcut.

There has been a noticable increase in vehicles speeding through the park with Council sharing concerns in a social media post about the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, children, and families.

“We’re investigating installing traffic cushioning devices but, in the meantime, remind everyone that our CCTV cameras are actively monitoring the roads within the park,” Mount Barker District Council said on Facebook on Monday.

“To avoid fines or other traffic penalties, please do not use the SSRP as a shortcut and be mindful of the posted speed limit of 30km/h.”
