Lighting at the Mannum Oval Complex and Showground will finally be upgraded, following a commitment from Epic Energy.
The SA-based energy infrastructure company has announced they will fund majority of the project, following investigations from the Mid Murray Council as to how they could replace the existing lights which have fallen into disrepair.
Epic Energy owns the nearby Mannum Energy Park, which comprises two solar farms and an under-construction battery energy storage system.
The Council and Mannum Football Club have previously secured a SANFL grant for the project, however the funding only covers part of the project.
Mid Murray Council Mayor Simone Bailey says they’re thankful for Epic Energy’s contributions.
“The Mannum Oval Complex and Showground is an important facility for Mannum, acting as a centre for sport and recreation, as well as a hub for community events and gatherings,” Mayor Bailey said.
“This project will ensure that the Oval not only continues to meet the needs of our community and the many clubs and organisations that use the facility, but also creates new opportunities for events into the future.”
