A 19-year-old Crafers woman is lucky to have avoided a tragic incident early this morning, with authorities issuing a warning for others to be vigilant.
Emergency services were called to Strathalbyn Road in Aldgate around 2.15am, following reports a car had hit a fallen tree branch.
The fallen branch was unavoidable as it covered both lanes of traffic, however the driver managed to escape injury and prevent significant damage to the car.

CFS and SES volunteers cleared the tree from around the vehicle.
Authorities warn that the recent dry conditions and extreme weather events can increase stress on tree branches, which can cause them to fall more frequently.
