The 2023/24 State Budget includes measures to prevent future flooding along the River Murray.
State Emergency Service will receive $1.2 million in the next financial year to acquire new flood barriers.
The investment comes following a very costly clean-up following the 2022-23 Summer flooding emergency.
More than $142m is being committed to the flood emergency, including targeted tax relief, small business recovery grants, emergency accommodation and travel assistance, the removal of dangerous debris, a road repair package and legal assistance.
The SES have received $9.8 million this financial year to respond to, manage and clean-up after flooding.
