Yankalilla Council is considering a name change in its 8-yearly representation review.

“Fleurieu Coast Council” has been proposed as Council says it “aligns with its established place brand to best represent the district today and into the future”.

The idea follows place branding endorsed by Council in June 2015, “Made by Nature: Fleurieu Coast”, following the community survey ‘What is it about this place?!’.

Council estimates costs associated with renaming could be round $10,000, which could be staged over time, starting with new signage for the Council’s principal office.

Consultation is currently open on the name change proposal with feedback being sought on the Representation Review Report and the proposed name change through to 31 January 2025.

There will be a Community Conversations Pop-up at Council’s Australia Day Event (Normanville Village Green, Sunday, 26 January 2025) and two live online Public Information Sessions: Tuesday, 28 January 2025 | 3:00pm – 4:30pm and Wednesday, 29 January 2025 | 5:30 – 7:00pm.
