While the Murray Towns Cricket Association took the week off due to hot weather, the three other leagues in our regions continued to serve up interesting results on Saturday. Catch up on all the action here:
GREAT SOUTHERN CRICKET ASSOCIATION (full scorecards here)
Great Southern defending champions Encounter Bay have tallied an important win to bring themselves back into the finals fold, holding off Goolwa in a thriller on Saturday as part of Day Two play of Round Four.
The Eagles posted just 147 last week, however bowled superbly to get the in-form Goolwa to 9/91, before a last-wicket stand between Kingsley Vincent and Nicholas Ralph made things nervy as Vincent fell with just seven runs to go.
In other matches, the statement win of the round came from Yankalilla, who chased down 215 easily to win by eight wickets against Myponga-Sellicks, thanks to 94 from opener Aaron Smith.
ALEXANDRA AND EASTERN HILLS CRICKET ASSOCIATION (full scorecards here)
Langhorne Creek has knocked Hahndorf off the top of the Alexandra and Eastern Hills Cricket Association table on Saturday, as part of Round Six action.
The Tigers posted 9/241 first up, before taking regular wickets to hold Hahndorf to 207 all out in response.
That result helped Lobethal and Woodside move above the Magpies, after they both won again to keep their winning streaks rolling.
HILLS CRICKET ASSOCIATION (full scorecards here)
Mount Lofty is now the outright leader in the Hills Cricket Association, after another turbulent round of play on Saturday.
The Redcaps did what was required, winning by 19 runs against last-placed Kangarilla, and benefited from two upsets as Aldgate beat Stirling and Meadows cruised past Scott Creek-Ironbank.
Mylor also took advantage, moving into second with a 28-run win over Bridgewater.
