A supermarket in Mount Compass is changing hands this month.
For over 24 years, IGA Mount Compass has been a cornerstone of the local community, supported by three generations of the Hicks family.
Now they are handing the reins to family-owned chain Drakes, marking the brand’s 68th store across South Australia and Queensland.
Melita Hicks, owner of IGA Mount Compass has thanked the community for their support.
“Without your backing and encouragement, we could not have made our store what it is today. We are deeply grateful to our staff for their hard work and dedication and wish them all the best. We thank Drakes for retaining our wonderful team and wish them every success for the future,” Melita Hicks said.
Roger Drake, Managing Director of Drakes, said customers can expect a similar service experience but with an expanded product selection.
“I know we have big shoes to fill, as the Hicks family has done an incredible job, but we are committed to maintaining the same level of customer service and hope to exceed customers’ expectations,” Roger Drake said.
The rebranding of IGA Mount Compass to Drakes will officially take place on November 25, 2024.
