A playground has been unveiled in the heart of Strathalbyn’s newest residential community, Aurora.

Aurora Park covers more than 5400sqm and has an adventure playground and spaces for ball sports, a picnic lawn and native garden with loop track suitable for younger children.

The completion of the $2M project is the latest milestone at the $180M land development that will house more than 300 families when complete.

Aurora is being developed for the Alexandrina community by Land Australia, one of the largest land developers in South Australia and part of the Hickinbotham Group.

The development comes as Strathalbyn’s population is forecast to grow by approximately 1,800 people over the next seven to 10 years.

These latest milestones follow the recent partnership between Hickinbotham Group and Catholic Education South Australia to deliver a new $30 million school for Strathalbyn, within the Aurora estate, expected to open in 2029.

Members of the team unveiled the new playground on Friday 8 November in an official ceremony including Managing Director Michael Hickinbotham, with invited guests Minister Blair Boyer MP, Chair of the South Australian Commission for Catholic Schools (SACCS) John Neate and Alexandrina Council Mayor Keith Parkes.
